da realbet: Aston Villa have been, and still are, one of this season’s most interesting teams.

da imperador bet: Unai Emery’s side started the campaign in diabolical form and yet, with less than half of it to go, are third in the Premier League, third in the Europa League and through to the next round of the FA Cup.

The result away to Tottenham Hotspur might have been their most important for some time, as while a title win might be off the cards, there is no reason to think the Villans couldn’t do what Crystal Palace did last year.

Moreover, Aston Villa seem intent on giving Emery an even better chance of achieving something this year, as, if reports are to be believed, they are looking to improve the team this month and could land a signing that Morgan Rogers should love.

Aston Villa target dream signing for Rogers

Villa fans have had a lot to celebrate so far this season, but when it comes to the player who gets them on their feet more than any other, it’s impossible to look past Rogers.

Transfer Focus

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

The former Middlesbrough gem has continued his sensational form from last season and, if anything, has been even more impactful for the West Midlands outfit this year.

Whether it’s goals, assists, or the pass before the pass, if the Villans score, you can bet that the 23-year-old has been involved somewhere along the way.

With this in mind, it’s not all that surprising to hear that the club are now moving to sign someone the mercurial midfielder would love playing with.

At least that is according to a recent report from TEAMtalk, which claims Aston Villa are still interested in Tammy Abraham.

The report states that the Villans have already been in contact over a potential move, signalling to Besiktas, who have him on loan this season, that they are keen on signing him.

It is not entirely clear how much the Englishman would cost, but according to other reports this month, the Turkish side had an obligation to purchase him for around £11m in the summer.

Therefore, for AS Roma, his parent club, to okay this move, it’s likely the West Midlands outfit would have to stump up a similar figure plus some compensation for the Turkish side.

It could therefore be a complicated transfer to get over the line, but given Abraham’s ability, one Villa should fight for, especially as Rogers would surely love playing with him.

Why Rogers would love playing with Abraham

The first, most obvious and ultimately most significant reason Rogers would love playing with Abraham is his output.

The former Chelsea star appears to have rediscovered his goalscoring abilities with Besiktas and looks to be a real threat again.

For example, in 24 appearances, totalling 1726 minutes, he has scored 12 goals and provided three assists.

That means that the sensational number nine is averaging a goal involvement every 1.6 games, or every 115.06 minutes, which lends credence to journalist Bolarinwa Olajide’s description of him being a “beast” in front of goal.

For comparison’s sake, Ollie Watkins has scored just seven goals and provided one assist in 29 appearances, totalling 1871 minutes this season, which is an average of a goal involvement every 3.62 games, or every 233.87 minutes.

Amazingly, even with lacklustre numbers like that, the former Exeter City star is the Villans’ top scorer after Rogers.

Therefore, it’s clear that the squad, and the mercurial midfielder in particular, are calling out for a proper goalscorer to lead the line, someone like Abraham.

He’d help bolster the talisman’s goal and assist tally, all while bringing a wealth of experience with him from his time across the continent.

Finally, unlike some of the other forwards the Villans might target, the Camberwell-born poacher has experience of playing in the Premier League from his time with Chelsea and already knows Villa Park very well from his campaign there in the 18/19 season.

Therefore, it shouldn’t take him too long to settle in and start linking up with his teammates.

Ultimately, while he might not be the most exciting of names, Villa should do what they can to sign Abraham, as he seems to be back near his best and would be an excellent teammate for Rogers.
