The finals of the East Africa Premier League and East African Cup have been postponed due to a waterlogged outfield at Nairobi Gymkhana Club.Rwenzori Warriors were due to take on the Nile Knights in the final of the EAPL while the Knights were also scheduled to tackle Kongonis in the EAC final a day later. But torrential rain in Nairobi led to the postponement of both matches with the competitions committee looking to reschedule in early December.Cricket Kenya Chief Executive Tom Sears said: “Obviously we are extremely disappointed that we have had to reschedule the finals but it is far better to postpone and ensure we have an exciting climax to the competitions rather than resort to sharing the titles or a bowl off.”We have had over six inches of rain in the last 48 hours in Nairobi and following an inspection of Nairobi Gymkhana by the umpires and consultation with the teams competing in both finals we have taken the decision to reschedule the finals until later this year.”There is no prospect of play for either game with the outfield completely waterlogged. These competitions have generated a great deal of interest so it is important we take steps to ensure they reach a proper conclusion.”
