da bet sport: Tottenham Hotspur fans have blamed their lack of signings in the summer for Wednesday night’s Champions League defeat to Barcelona at Wembley.
Mauricio Pochettino had to go into the match without the services of some of his big name players with Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Serge Aurier all ruled out until after the international break with injury.
That meant that the manager had to face the Catalan giants with an understrength squad and the club’s fans aren’t very happy with the outcome of Wednesday’s match due to the club’s failure to make any signings in the transfer window.
Many feel Spurs would’ve had a better chance in getting a result if they had strong reinforcements to call on against a Barcelona side that had the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho in their armour.
Spurs have now gone two Champions League matches without picking up a point, also losing their opening round encounter at Inter Milan.
