da aposte e ganhe: Fabio Paratici could be allowed to spend £100m on new recruits this summer if Tottenham Hotspur achieve Champions League qualification on Sunday, claims finance expert Dr Dan Plumley.
The Lowdown: Conte’s demands
da dobrowin: As per The Athletic, Spurs manager Antonio Conte has said that the north London club need to spend a “lot of money” if they are to compete for the Premier League title.
As a result, the Italian has demanded up to six signings this summer.
In a statement last Sunday (15 May), Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy proceeded to pledge the investment that Conte so desperately wants for a summer build.

The Latest: Plumley’s claim
Plumley has claimed that Champions League qualification will come as a “huge” boost for Paratici, as we are now just five days away from discovering the fate of north London’s battle for fourth.
Speaking with Football Insider, he proclaimed: “They can spend under FFP.
“Financial performance has largely been good in recent years due to the way Levy has run the club like a business.
“But their revenue is still behind City, Chelsea, Liverpool and United. There’s a big gap there, both in the finances and on the pitch.
“We should stress that Champions League football would make a huge impact on spending. If they qualify, that could see them spend £100m to compete in that competition.
“If they don’t make it, there will also be a clamour for investment so they can make it next season. So you can see them spending that either way.”
The Verdict: Huge boost if they qualify
With just one game left to go in five days time, Spurs are in pole position to secure the fourth-place spot in the Premier League. Tottenham need a single point away to Norwich to secure Champions League football – even if Arsenal beat Everton, the Lilywhites will top them on goal difference.

With the overwhelming likelihood of this possibility, Paratici looks set to be handed a huge kitty in the transfer market, and Spurs fans must surely now be drooling at the thought of what they can achieve under Conte moving forward.
